Our name "Soma" means "body of Christ" - and we work together to keep our church and our service running smoothly so we can be a blessing to our community. We'd love to have you on one of our teams! Our hope is that everyone who calls Soma Eastside home is serving on a ministry team once a month. This includes older kids and teens - there are many opportunities to serve with parents or other leaders. See the details and contact info below.
SETUP TEAM - set up the church for service on Sunday. This includes setting up chairs, distributing bins to different areas, and assisting stage setup as needed. Kids/teens welcome with a parent.

TEAR DOWN TEAM - clean up after the Sunday service (approx 11:30-12:30). Includes taking items to storage area, vacuuming the lobby, and assisting with stage tear down as needed. Kids/teens welcome with a parent.

SPEAKING TEAM - give the welcome/announcements and the liturgy readings throughout the service. Must be a confident public speaker and willing to read/practice the material ahead of time. Kids/teens welcome with a parent.

HOSPITALITY TEAM - prepare coffee and treats, set up coffee area, prep communion elements. Includes set up before service and clean up after service. Kids/teens welcome with a parent.

WELCOME TEAM - 2 positions: greeters and welcome table. Greeters welcome attendees as they arrive, give directions to guests, and distribute bulletins as needed. Welcome Table provides detailed information about MCs and general church info, makes a point to connect with visitors, and gathers Connect Cards. Kids/teens welcome with a parent.

MUSIC/TECH TEAM - play in a worship team or help run audio for the sanctuary. Includes setup before the service and clean up after the service. Music team usually meets for rehearsal during the week. Teens with music or audio skills welcome.
SOMA KIDS CREWS - lead or assist a Soma Kids Crew! Nursery, pre-school, K-3rd grade or 4-5th grade. Teens welcome as assistants!
SOMA EASTSIDE YOUTH - leaders help twice a month on Sunday evenings with Gather (1st/3rd Sundays) or Groups (2nd/4th Sundays).
PROJECT MANAGER - leaders are asked to commit once a month to serve as a coordinator for all the Sunday morning leaders from 8am-12:30pm. Please see the link below for work instructions.
